Deep thoughts: "This too will pass.........".

Once a King called upon all of his wise men and asked them, "Is there a mantra or suggestion which works in every situation, in every circumstance, in every place and in every time. Something which can help me when none of you is available to advise me. Tell me is there any mantra?" All wise men got puzzled by King"s question. One answer for all questions? Something that works everywhere, in every situation? In every joy, every sorrow, every defeat and every victory?

They thought and thought. After a lengthy discussion, an old man suggested something which appealed to all of them. They went to the king and gave him something written on paper. But the condition was that king was not to see it out of curiosity. Only in extreme danger, when the King finds himself alone and there seems to be no way, only then he’ll have to see it. The King put the papers under his Diamond ring.

After a few days, the neighbors attacked the Kingdom. It was a collective surprise attack of the King’s enemies. King and his army fought bravely but lost the battle. King had to fled on his horse. The enemies were following him. His horse took him far away in the Jungle. He could hear many troops of horses following him and the noise was coming closer and closer. Suddenly the King found himself standing at the end of the road - that road was not going anywhere. Underneath there was a rocky valley thousand feet deep. If he jumped into it, he would be finished. And he could not return because it was a small road. The sound of enemy’s horses was approaching fast. King became restless. There seemed to be no way..

Then suddenly he saw the Diamond in his ring shining in the sun, and he remembered the message hidden in the ring. He opened the diamond and read the message. The message was very small but very great. The message was – “This too will pass." The King read it. Again read it. Suddenly something struck him- Yes! It too will pass. Only a few days ago, I was enjoying my kingdom. I was the mightiest of all the Kings. Yet today, the Kingdom and all his pleasure have gone. I am here trying to escape from enemies. However when those days of luxuries have gone, this day of danger too will pass. Calm come on his face. He kept standing there. The place where he was standing was full of natural beauty. He had never known that such a beautiful place was also a part of his Kingdom. The revelation of the message had a great effect on him. He relaxed and forgot about those following him.

After a few minutes he realized that the noise of the horses and the enemy coming was receding. They moved into some other part of the mountains and were not on that path. The King was very brave. He reorganized his army and fought again. He defeated the enemy and regained his lost empire. When he returned to his empire after victory, he was received with much fan fare at the door. The whole capital was rejoicing in the victory. Everyone was in a festive mood. Flowers were being thrown on the King from every house, from every corner. People were dancing and singing. For a moment King said to himself," I am one of the bravest and greatest Kings. It is not easy to defeat me..:

With all the reception and celebration he saw an ego emerging in him. Suddenly the Diamond of his ring flashed in the sunlight and reminded him of the message. He opened it and read it again: "This too will pass" He became silent. His face went through a total change -from the egoist he moved to a state of utter humbleness. If this too is going to pass, it is not yours. The defeat was not yours, the victory is not yours. You are just a watcher. Everything passes by We are witness of all this. We are the perceiver. Life comes and goes. Happiness comes and goes. Sorrow comes and goes.

Now as you have read this story, just sit silently and evaluate your own life... Think of the moments of joy and victory in your life. Think of the moment of Sorrow and defeat. Are they permanent? They all come and pass away. Life just passes away. There were friends in the past. They have gone. There are friends today. They too will go. There will be new friends tomorrow. They too will go. There were enemies in the past. They have gone. There may be enemies in the present. They too will go. There will be new enemies tomorrow and.. they too will go.

There is nothing permanent in this world. Every thing changes except the law of change. Think over it from your own perspective. You have seen all the changes. You have survived all setbacks, all defeats and all sorrows. All have passed away. If there are problems in the present, they too will pass away. Because nothing remains forever. Joy and sorrow are the two faces of the same coin. They both will pass away. Who are you in reality? Know your real face. Your face is not your true face. It will change with the time. However, there is something in you, which will not change.. It will remain unchanged. What is that unchangeable? It is nothing but your true self. You are just a witness of change.

This too will pass.....& it dawns that the only permanent thing in life is...CHANGE....TIME....PASS!!

A GOOD SAMARITAN - PRAKASH J JOGI, my unlce

A dedication...straight from the heart to my dearest Prakash maama:
I not only call you uncle, I call you friend!
Uncle, you're forever in my heart.
Uncles like you are precious and few!
An uncle grows more treasured as time goes by!
Uncle:People who are nice as you,are great to be related to!
An uncle is someone special to remember with warmth, think of with pride, and cherish with love.
An uncle is a gift whose worth cannot be measured except by the heart.
An uncle is a joy to remember your whole life through.
Everything is nicer when shared with an uncle!
A garden of love grows in my uncle's heart.
An uncle adds beauty, joy, and love to life.
An uncle makes life a little sweeter.

Yes, these are emotions that tug my heart when I think of my dear maama-Prakash !He has been that God sent angel with whom a special relation has been bonded with my soul.

They say a uncle's relation with his nephew is always unique & special! How true!! From the times, I can recollect, my maama(as i lovingly call him) has been that one person with whom my heart has synchronised perfectly in tune. Distances or time never made any difference.Whenever we met,the frequence just matched perfectly. We somehow have a peculiar bonding that our perceptions of things/people somehow gelled. Without a hitch, I could share anything/everything with my maama who listens to understand the feelings. It goes without saying that he was the one to hear all my issues, acts, wants, needs & be that soothing hand on my shoulder when I needed that the most.

Maama has a unique sense of houmour that can have a uplifting efffect on most people in the most tiring of situations. He has this God blessed ability to laugh at slef & situation that eases the pressures around. That is one ability & a caring heart has people drawn to him like a magnet in their times of duress or happiness. His witty one-liners & a perfect sense of timing make him being the centre of all attention & fun at gatherings . All along I have been a silent admirer of these acts of my maama, who by himself is sucha simple soul that I'am sure is not even aware of the fact that these are rare traits in people, especially in these times & not many people are luky to be blessed so.

Infact if & when he might read this post on my blog, me might in all probability laugh & ridicule my writting this post (alongwith my sister , his sisters & few others) ,making fun of my writting, words or intent. But Maama, these are heartfelt words that I genuinely mean from the bottom of my soul to say you've loved me like a parent And you've acted like a true friend to me & you would not even be aware of these impacts you have left on me.

Deep within me I know that you have been that special soulmate who I shall always chreish, wherever I'm.

People who are nice as you are great to be related to!It is indeed my fortune that we are blood relatives. But the fact is my respects for you as a person has grown immensely through the times as I began realising what a special soul you have been!

It is not easy to have a heavy heart, yet make others happy & have people smiling around. You have that special ability & I guess, it's God's ways of choosing you to spread cheer, fun & smiles to people around who need these the most. You were invariably the 1st to nkow of all my heart's wants & feelings with my memory recalling that I would wait for my summer vacations to share with you my inner most feelings that I did not probably want to share with my friends or family .And only afre sharing with you those trivial things, would my heart feel lighter. It has not changed even till date & I doubt it would never be otherwise!

Today, I would like to say loud & clear that you're the best uncle I've got. Thanks for being that special parent to me at times & also a great friend most of the times .Eeven today, I feel lighter only when I share things with you & look forward like a little boy for our chat sessions. It is rather funny that we end up talking the most irrelevant of things & share wierdest of funny liners, without really discussing the real issues. But somehow it helps see things differently & solve the issues at hands.

There is nothing that is hidden from you & you are the select few who have known me inside out-the way I'm...so long & shall be that way all along .You have been a strength & not only for me but many people in our circles.

I salute your special ways in which you connect with all your near/dear ones to soothe concerns, worries, fears & form the pillar of their strength.Pray God always gives you these prowess to act as HIS chosen guardian angel to all the needy & weak. This,I say with conviction through the spiritual I have gained, thanks primarily to your connection.

I may sound sarcastic at times when I hear that you are for ever travelling to Mumbai, Pune,Hyderbad,Bangalore or Mangalore but I have the deepest of respects for that special trait of yours to be able to go & add that strength that they need at their moment of crisises. My admiration for you has grown immensely over the times as you do that so selflessly & without worrying about yourself, you plunge to help others.

Today, we may not be able to communicate as often as we would like to, but then,to say I not only call you my favourite Uncle ,I also call you my bestest friend is a fact that I say with pride today & forever!!

A good samaritan you indeed are, Maama,

Love u maama for what you are ! With repsects & admiration!!
SAIRAM
(I wanted to write something very light, funny & hilarious about you & my association with you, but the fact is that amidst all those fun, laughter, cheer the REAL SIDE of you might have got shadowed & hence just left my heart do the writting.....But yes, this article is just the draft & would continue evolving through times.....)
